Let's face it the worst part of travelling is staying in those impersonal hotels. Unless, you can afford to stay at one of those really high class hotels that cater to your every whim (and who can anymore) then a motel stay is usually the worst part of your get a way weekend.
But, you do have an option. You can spoil yourself with a bed and breakfast weekend.
But, you do have an option. You can spoil yourself with a bed and breakfast weekend.
Notice The Difference The Moment You Step Inside
You will notice the difference between a hotel and a bed and breakfast the moment you step through the doors. At a hotel you often find yourself waiting in line at the check in desk to get your room number from a desk clerk that may or may not be to friendly. At a bed and breakfast you are usually greeted by the owners as though you are honoured guests in their home (which you are). ManyBED AND BREAKFASTS offer you a beverage before seeing you to your room personally.
The Décor
There is also a difference in the décor. While motels carry the exact same bed, dresser, and bedding throughout the entire establishment most bed and breakfast rooms reek of individuality, many in keeping with the history of the buildings themselves. So, you may find yourself staying in a room where a poet once stayed or a room with a woodsy or country feel complete with fresh flowers. In some bed and breakfasts you can find yourself sleeping under handmade quilts and bathing in one of those deep claw foot bathtubs of years gone by.
Breakfasts
Of course when it comes to breakfasts there is simply no comparison. If the motel offers anything at all it is usually those rushed continental breakfasts where you feel rushed to get your food, eat and get out so the next people in line can eat too. While a bed and breakfast on the other hand serves a family style breakfast that would rival the world's top chef's in most cases. Not only are you encouraged to enjoy your meal, but, to linger over that second or third coffee if you choose.
Not only is the food out of this world but, you really get a chance to know some of the other guests over a delicious meal as conversation and laughter flows. It is a little like being on a cruise ship in that respect.
The Little Touches
So okay, maybe that hotel does put a mint on your pillow. But, that does not compare with the little touches manyBED AND BREAKFASTS provide. Some provide afternoon tea, others dessert just before bed, and some even offer a glass of a local wine before you head out dinner. These little touches makes everyone feel like a special part of their host and hostesses family as they linger on a porch in the late afternoon sunshine, walk about a garden, or simply enjoy a late night bonfire.
Best of all each different B&B offers their own special touches which make you stay more unique and enjoyable and allows you to soak up more of the atmosphere of the area in which you have chosen to stay.
So if you really want to enjoy that get away weekend then spoil yourself with a Bed and Breakfast weekend. You'll be glad you did.
